Tried & True Recipes is a blog I have been working on since 2016. It has grown from a small personal project to a site that receives 150,000 page views per month, 73,000 Instagram followers, and over 1 million impressions on Pinterest.
In 2020, I focused on redesigning the site with speed, user experience, and discoverability in mind.
Since then, bounce rates have decreased, users’ time on site has increased significantly, and organic traffic has increased.
To start this project, I challenged myself to create a more robust design system in Figma and prototype the site’s interactions.
I began the design process, crafting mobile and desktop layouts along with prototyped interactions.
From there, I worked closely with a web developer to create the coded live site. It took several months and while we’re still in the process of creating interactions, the finished site is far more usable than the previous version.
